Sian returns as Gloria, Mike’s right hand PA. Her unrequited passion has moved up a gear. She thinks anything he does is wonderful and still believes they have a future together.
Gloria wastes no opportunity to flirt outrageously with Mike, encouraged by the fact that he is now separated from his wife and overjoyed that she has been promoted to be his PA. Gloria’s attitude toward the monkeys remains a game of snide remarks, sarcastic comments and bigging-up herself.
Speaking about her return to the character, Sian says: “Gloria is like a sodden, slightly soiled, saggy Union Jack, still flapping hopefully, aimlessly and sadly in the wind, at half mast!”
 
Adding, “This series Gloria is terrified about losing her job and gets threatened by the arrival of Mike’s daughter who is more beautiful and totally younger and hard as nails.” Talking about Gloria’s feelings for Mike, Sian sighs, “Still in love with Mike she has smashed down the divider wall between their offices so that she can have him under her constant surveillance.”
